Our bracelets and cotton weavings are made by indigenous Kaxinawá women or - as they call themselves - Huni Kuin (real people). Traditional, sacred symbols, the so-called kenês (lit. snake drawing) are used. Dozens of different kenês represent heroes of the past, animals or the forest spirit, but also stand for courage, strength and wisdom. In addition to body painting and adornments with teeth, shells, seeds and feathers, glass beads are also used as body decorations. Since the first contacts with European travelers, indigenous peoples have appropriated the use of glass beads. The use of the kenês in the bracelets gives them their own meaning, so that they are used for their own occasions.
